Introduction
Open iT version 10.3 delivers major enhancements in platform intelligence, software asset management, and operational visibility. Key highlights include the introduction of the centralized orchestrator for cross-product workflow management, Open iT Insights for AI-powered assistance and analytics, enhanced web application and GPU monitoring, and expanded application discovery capabilities.
The release also strengthens license management through new ServiceNow applications, real-time monitoring enhancements, expanded vendor and license manager support, and additional reporting capabilities for software usage and optimization. Various usability improvements, administrative tools, and data quality enhancements are included to further improve platform efficiency, scalability, and user experience.
New Features
Centralized Orchestrator across Open iT Products
Open iT features enterprise-grade orchestration powered by PostgreSQL and Dagster, enabling reliable scheduling, real-time execution tracking, and centralized management of operational metadata. This robust architecture delivers scalability, resilience, and full visibility across your data workflows while providing easy access to operational insights and troubleshooting information for faster issue resolution and continuous performance optimization.

Open iT Insight
Version 10.3 introduces Open iT Insight, a Generative AI-powered assistant that brings conversational, natural language interaction that aims to simplify onboarding and reduce support dependency.
Open iT Insight offers GenAI-powered chat interface that introduces:
- Conversational access to the Open iT platform and knowledge base using natural language
- Ability to answer user queries about the Open iT products, features, onboarding, etc.
- Report generation with analysis and insights by querying the supported database using natural language
- Conversation saving and management for continuous workflows and interactions
- Enhanced Open iT onboarding and reduced support load by enabling users to find answers and insights independently

Open iT Web App Tracker Plugin
The Open iT Web App Tracker Plugin enables monitoring of browser‑based application usage by capturing activity across websites and web applications. It provides visibility into how users interact with web applications, helping organizations better understand application usage beyond traditional desktop software.
The plugin tracks browser activity, website sessions, user interaction, and active versus idle time, creating usage data that aligns with desktop application monitoring. This helps provide a more complete view of application usage across both web and desktop environments.

LicensePredictor
Open iT reintroduces LicensePredictor, a forecasting tool that helps organizations anticipate software license demand and usage trends over the next 18 months. Using adaptive forecasting techniques, it analyzes historical usage patterns, trends, and seasonality to deliver more accurate projections that support license planning and capacity management.
Beyond forecasting, LicensePredictor provides analytical insights and anomaly detection capabilities that help identify unusual usage behavior. These insights enable organizations to make more informed decisions, optimize license investments, and proactively address potential availability and cost concerns.
Enhanced Windows Application Discovery
This release introduces a new Windows application discovery collector that standardizes application names and metadata across the platform. This provides more consistent reporting and improves visibility into application details.

OpeniT LicenseAnalyzer Version 2 (ServiceNow Store Application)
The OpeniT LicenseAnalyzer version 2 for ServiceNow delivers enhanced visibility into software license usage with dedicated product‑level and feature‑level analytics. The update helps organizations better understand utilization patterns, identify optimization opportunities, and make more informed decisions about software investments.
The new version also supports the ServiceNow licensing tables introduced in the Australia release for Autodesk and Bentley integrations, enabling organizations to leverage the latest data model and reporting capabilities.
In addition, LicenseAnalyzer version 2 introduces dedicated Product and Feature Overview dashboards, along with interactive drill‑down reporting for deeper analysis of usage, consumption trends, and software spend. These enhancements provide a more comprehensive view of license performance, supporting improved forecasting and cost optimization.

OpeniT LicenseMonitor (ServiceNow Store Application)
The OpeniT LicenseMonitor for ServiceNow provides a real‑time view of license status and availability, helping teams proactively monitor vendor licenses and reduce the risk of service disruptions. By leveraging ServiceNow's integration and visibility capabilities, it enables earlier action on license issues and supports more effective license management.
This ServiceNow store app includes a consolidated Vendor License Status page, a License Expiration Status page with configurable warning thresholds, and a Feature Expiration Calendar for tracking upcoming expirations. Together, these views provide a clear and centralized perspective of license health, availability, and renewal timelines.

LicenseAnalyzer Level 1
Support for Autodesk “Group” Data
This Autodesk data collection enhancement expands usage reporting by capturing group information alongside user level Autodesk activity. This provides broader context for understanding how different parts of the organization consume Autodesk licenses.
With group data included, usage can now be analyzed at both the user and group level, supporting better license allocation and cost optimization. This added insight helps organizations manage Autodesk resources more efficiently and make informed decisions about usage trends.

LicenseAnalyzer Level 3
GPU Monitoring for Windows
GPU monitoring improves application optimization by adding GPU usage to the existing activity checks, which include CPU, I/O, keyboard, and mouse interactions. This makes it easier to identify true inactivity for GPU‑heavy workloads like simulations and AI applications.
This feature captures an application's overall GPU utilization and uses it alongside current optimization metrics to determine activity or inactivity. This integration provides a more accurate and complete view of how applications use system resources.

Core Server
Normalization of Active Directory Fields
This feature introduces enhanced normalization for Active Directory fields, ensuring that variations in spelling, formatting, or abbreviations are cleaned and standardized. This prevents duplicate or inconsistent entries from appearing in reports and mapping outputs.
By automatically identifying and unifying similar AD values before they are processed downstream, the feature delivers cleaner inputs for the map maintainer and more accurate, reliable results. This helps maintain consistent data quality across reporting and mapping workflows.
CLIMS
Options File Generator
The Options File Generator is a GUI-based tool that simplifies the creation and management of FlexNet options files. It enables administrators to configure license behavior, access control rules, logging settings, and other options through an intuitive interface, then automatically generates a properly formatted options file that can be applied to the license server.
Support for Managing Vendor Visibility
The Manage Vendor Visibility page gives administrators control over which vendor licenses are included in CLIMS monitoring. By default, CLIMS monitors all vendors detected from supported license managers, but administrators can now selectively include or exclude vendors based on their monitoring requirements.
Support for FlexNet Embedded
CLIMS supports the following functionalities for FlexNet Embedded:
- Displays general information about the installed license (i.e., license manager path, license files, log files, configuration file, and features)
- Allows the user to start and stop the license daemon
- Allows the user to monitor the license daemon (e.g., info, status, etc.)
- Shows the user all server commands executed in the client through the Console tab
- Allows the user to see a rundown of the debug log through the Debug tab
- Shows the user the number of combined usages of each feature as well as checkout details

Workarounds
Addressing HTTP 400 "Request Too Long" errors during authentication
This workaround applies to 54824.
In environments that use Microsoft Entra ID authentication, the authentication token and resulting authentication cookie can increase in size depending on the claims included in the token. If the HTTP request headers, including the Cookie header, exceed the default Windows HTTP.sys request header limits, HTTP.sys may reject the request and return an HTTP 400 “Request Too Long” error before the request reaches Analysis Server.
As a workaround, administrators can increase the Windows HTTP.sys request header limits.
These registry settings modify Windows HTTP.sys configuration for the entire server and are not specific to Analysis Server. Increasing the request header limits may increase HTTP.sys resource consumption and could increase exposure to certain types of malicious HTTP requests. Because this behavior originates from a Windows operating system limitation, administrators should evaluate the operational and security implications before applying this workaround in their environment.
To do this:

Open a command prompt with Administrator level privileges.

Run the following commands:
reg add "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTP\Parameters" /v MaxFieldLength /t REG_DWORD /d 32768 /freg add "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTP\Parameters" /v MaxRequestBytes /t REG_DWORD /d 32768 /f -
After applying the changes, restart the computer.
Resolving the Discovery page startup issue
This workaround applies to 49507.
In some environments, initiating Discovery from the GUI may not start the process as expected.
As a workaround, create a writable results directory in C:\Program Files\OpeniT\Core\External\OpeniTDiscoveryTool. After creating the directory, start Discovery again from the GUI.
Alternatively, administrators can run discover.bat manually. Running the script creates the required files and directories needed by the Discovery process. To do this:

Open a command prompt with Administrator level privileges.

Go to the necessary directory, run the command:
cd C:\Program Files\OpeniT\Core\ReportingServer\html\OpeniT\discoverytool\bin -
Execute the script:
discover.bat -
After the script completes successfully, Discovery can be started from the GUI.
As part of this workaround, it was observed that the Discovery status is not reflected correctly in the GUI even when Discovery is running.
