# LicenseAnalyzer Level 3

Open iT LicenseAnalyzer Level 3 terminates all applications, whether standalone or sever-based, Cloud or on-premise. Level 3 collectors reside on the host machine where the applications intended for optimization are installed. These collectors assess the level of inactivity by monitoring CPU utilization, I/O operations, keyboard strokes, and mouse interactions.

In scenarios where an application is too large to be terminated, it is more efficient for the user to leave the application running at the end of the day and resume work the next day with the application in the same state it was left. This ensures continuity and avoids the overhead of restarting large applications. Additionally, for users who want to share the license without the hassle of closing and reopening the application within a short period, LicenseAnalyzer Level 3 allows the application to be suspended, freeing up the license temporarily while preserving the application's state, making it easier to resume work without the need for a lengthy reload process. Furthermore, if a user is inactive when the application is scheduled to be terminated and there is unsaved work, the tool offers several options to ensure data preservation. These options include automatically saving progress or utilizing the custom action 'save as' feature, thereby safeguarding against any potential data loss and ensuring that all work is securely kept before termination. If these are the approaches the user prefers, here is the list of supported license managers:

  • FlexLM (Flexera FlexNet Publisher)
  • LMX (X-Formation License Manager)
  • LUM (IBM License Use Management)
  • RLM (Reprise License Manager)

There are four types of data collectors involved in Level 3:

  • AM – collects keyboard and mouse events and the application window, which acts as a receiver of the said events.
  • FreezeMonitor – groups process information by user configuration and records the overall status based on the activity threshold of the parameters.
  • AppUsage – collects process information.
  • Disabler Pop-up – collects user input thru a pop-up when applications become inactive.
