Open iT supports data collection services for selected Cloud applications. This cloud-based collection service offers a comprehensive approach to monitoring and analyzing usage patterns, enabling organizations to make informed decisions and maximize the value of software investments.

This service enables effortless access to data using Power BI by installing an Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) driver. This integration facilitates connection to the system and retrieves the necessary information for analysis.

# Architecture

The cloud-based collection service infrastructure is securely hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), leveraging its power and reliability to build a robust and scalable environment tailored to your data needs. Through strategic utilization of various AWS services, there is an assurance of optimal performance, scalability, and security in the infrastructure design.

Data from cloud vendor portals is collected by AWS Lambda, which performs initial data transformation. The data may be further processed and transformed by AWS Glue. Subsequently, it is securely stored in AWS S3, where it is encrypted at rest. Users can query the stored data using AWS Athena's SQL interface, which is facilitated by an ODBC driver. The ODBC driver ensures seamless integration with visualization and analysis tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Excel, other BI tools, and custom scripts. Configuration and credentials are managed centrally and securely using the AWS Parameter Store.

  • Encryption at Rest
    AWS S3 employs encryption at rest for stored Cloud application data to bolster security measures, meaning data is encrypted while residing in S3's storage infrastructure, safeguarding it from unauthorized access. The confidentiality and integrity of data are upheld by adhering to industry-standard encryption protocols.

  • Transparency and Data Access
    In commitment to transparency, we provide complete visibility and control over data. You can access all stored data in AWS S3 as part of this. Providing AWS credentials allows direct access within the secure AWS environment, allowing data review, management, and analysis, ensuring complete data collection and storage transparency, and empowering users with valuable insights.
