# Parts of the License Monitor Tab

The License Monitor is a web-based reporting tool that displays a real-time monitoring interface of all the collected data from supported license managers. It has three (3) parts:

  1. View - this field allows users to filter license usage view according to vendor license(s), feature(s), and user(s).

  2. Selections - this field allows users to choose the license usage view.

  3. License Usage - this field displays all of the license information and usage.

# License Monitor

  1. Filter the license usage view by ticking on the quick filters. Choose from:

    • Use Vendor License Mapping - This combines the view of vendor license usage according to the configuration in the product-mapping file.

    • Use Feature Mapping - This combines the view of feature usage according to the configuration in the feature-mapping file.

    • Show Feature Version - This differentiates features with the same name in different versions.

    • Use Token Cost - This shows features with token info with the number of Unused and In use licenses based on the token count, by default. Ticking the Use Token Cost checkbox shows how much of the token cost is Unused or In use.

  2. Filter the license usage view by vendor license(s), feature(s), or user(s).

    Click one item from the Vendor License box to filter Features and Users; both the Features and Users boxes will only contain the related features and users for that Vendor License. Click on Features first instead of Vendor License to filter out the Vendor License and Users boxes.

# Selections

  1. Choose whether to display the license usage in ascending or descending order by:

    • Vendor License - sort the vendor licenses/features by vendor license

    • Used Licenses - sort the vendor licenses/features by the number of licenses in use

    • Unused Licenses - sort the vendor licenses/features by the number of unused licenses

    • Total Licenses - sort the vendor licenses/features by the total number of licenses

    • Checkout Time - sort the vendor licenses/features by checkout time

    • License Model - sort the vendor licenses/features by license model

    Then choose whether to display the license usage in ascending or descending order.

  2. Choose whether to display the report in chart or table type.

# License Usage

The License Usage is an alphabetical list of the vendor license names with their corresponding unused and used licenses by default. Click on a vendor license to display its features. Click on a feature to display the Username, Host, Checkout time, and In use license(s).

Distinguish each license utilization measure in the progress bar by colors. These are:

  • Gray - Available. The number of unused licenses.

  • Green - Online. The number of licenses in use.

  • Light Green - Shadow Package. The number of licenses in use for features with package.

  • Light Brown - Named User. The number of licenses in use categorized as NamedUser. Only applicable to DSLS and Esri license managers.

  • Orange - Linger. The number of licenses in use categorized as Offline or Linger. Only applicable to V-Ray and Flex license managers.

  • Blue - Token. The number of licenses in use categorized as token-based. Only applicable to DSLS license manager.

  • Violet - Dongle. The number of licenses in use categorized as Dongle. Only applicable to V-Ray license manager.

The color legend is on the top row of the table and will only show the legend for the available data.

An indicator in the form of a red flag icon will be visible when the server and client are not synchronized. Make sure that the time settings on both server and client are identical.

If the license is detected as expired, the license information will be hidden.
