# Renaming Autodesk Vendor License ID

# Introduction

Configure autodesk-product-id-rename.map to rename Autodesk Vendor License IDs into easily understandable, readable names.

# Configuring autodesk-product-id-rename.map

  1. Open autodesk-product-id-rename.map in the Configuration directory, which is C:\Program Files\OpeniT\Core\Configuration by default.

  2. Specify the Autodesk vendor license IDs to rename with the following syntax:

    Mapping Syntax
    MAP: Autodesk-VendorLicense-Name
    VendorLicenseID1

Empty lines are allowed — any line beginning with # as the first non-whitespace character is considered a comment. Globbing is also supported, allowing you to use several globbing patterns; however, remember that they are slower than exact matches. To make your mapping files more effective and efficient, refer to the Optimize Rules to Speed-up Rename or Mapping page.

In the mapping file, entries are case-insensitive, meaning that capitalization variations, such as 'Autodesk' and 'autodesk', will be recognized as identical. Also, note that leading and trailing spaces are removed from entries.

By default, the most common Autodesk vendor licenses are already included in this mapping file for renaming.

    Example
    MAP: Autodesk Civil 3D
    *000

    MAP: AutoCAD
    *001

This example renames all of the vendor license IDs ending in 000 as Autodesk Civil 3D and vendor license IDs ending in 001 as AutoCAD.

You can also include custom configurations in this mapping file, such as default mapping, setting date limits on specific mapping entries, or creating nested maps.

  3. Save the changes.
