# Setting Application Timeout Values

Configure timeout-per-app.map to set the timeout value of applications.

  1. Open timeout-per-app.map in the Configuration directory, which is by default in C:\Program Files\OpeniT\Core\Configuration.

    Notice that it contains instructions on how to edit the file.

  2. Use the following format to map URL or a web page title substring:

    MAP: <application-timeout>
    <application-name>

    Empty lines are allowed — any line beginning with # as the first non-white character is considered a comment. Globbing is also supported.

    Example
    MAP: 30
    Autodesk

    This example means that Autodesk have 30 minutes timeout.

    Example
    MAP: 10
    LinkedIn*

    This example means that all applications with the name starting with LinkedIn* have 10 minutes timeout.

  3. Save the changes.

  1. Open timeout-per-app.map in the etc directory, which is by default in /var/opt/openit/etc.
