# Configuring SAR Binary Directory

Before proceeding with the configuration, please make sure that the SAR module is enabled in the Core Server.

Activating SAR

Open openit.cfg in /etc/opt/openit.
Change the value of the SAR directive, to the SAR directory including the binary name:
```
SAR /bin/sar
```
This directive is included by default if the installation owner is root.
Save the changes.
Restart the Open iT Client service using the follwoing command:
```
/opt/openit/bin/openit-all restart
```
