# Annual Usage Overview

This report provides an overview of an application's monthly license usage and annual totals. It is a quick reference for understanding the license position, allowing you to determine if an application is potentially over or underlicensed by comparing available licenses (Max Available) with the peak usage (Max in Use) of licenses. Additionally, it displays the duration of license checkouts.

Follow these instructions to generate a report:

  1. On the Open iT Reporting Services web portal home page, click on the LicenseAnalyzer Level 1 folder.

    This will redirect you to the list of LicenseAnalyzer Level 1 report templates.

  2. Click the Annual Usage Overview report template.

  3. Select the Application Type, Vendor License, Application Name, Time Month, and Time Year you want to include in the report.

    Parameter Description
    Application Type Use this to specify the name of grouping from which data are classified (the same listing found in the Application Hierarchy > Application Type).
    Vendor License Use this to specify the name of an application in a vendor license. The table list seen in the Application Hierarchy > Vendor License is the same, only arranged alphabetically (not by application name).
    Application Name Use this to specify the name of each application or program for a vendor license associated with Executable.
    Time Month Use this to specify the month of the report you want to view.
    Time Year Use this to specify the time-range for the report yearly such as 2020, 2021, 2022, etc.

  4. Click the View Report button in the top-right corner of the report viewer. Wait for the report to generate. This may take a few minutes, depending on the size of the data.
