# Percentile Cost Savings

This report provides an analysis of potential cost savings derived from identifying unused licenses within selected applications. It calculates these savings based on unit license costs, maintenance costs, and the efficiency percentage of license utilization.

# Requirements

Follow these instructions to generate a report:

  1. On the Open iT Reporting Services web portal home page, click on the LicenseAnalyzer Level 1 folder.

  2. Click the Advanced folder, then select Percentile Cost Savings report template.

  3. Select the Application Type, Product, Application Name, Time Year, Time Month, Percentile, and Top N you want to include in the report.

    Parameter Description
    Application Type Use this to specify the name of grouping from which data are classified (the same listing found in the Application Hierarchy > Application Type).
    Product Use this to specify the application in a product.
    Application Name Use this to specify the name of each application or program for a vendor license associated with an executable file.
    Time Year Use this to specify the time-range for the report yearly such as 2020, 2021, 2022, etc.
    Time Month Use this to specify the month of the report you want to view.
    Percentile Us this to filter and analyze the usage data based on the top percentage of application usage or user consumption. The available options for this parameter are 95%, 99%, and 100%.
    Top N Use this to specify the number of top applications to display in the report.

  4. Click the View Report button in the top-right corner of the report viewer. Wait for the report to generate. This may take a few minutes, depending on the size of the data.
