# Post-Upgrade Procedures

This guide provides instructions on important procedures that should be accomplished after a successful software upgrade. Follow the sequence of the procedures to apply the updates in the Analysis Server setup properly.

  1. Redeploy SQL Database. A redeploy in the database schema is necessary since the upgrade might include updates on the data warehouse.

  2. Redeploy OLAP Database. A redeploy in the SQL Server Analysis Services database is necessary since the upgrade might include updates on the OLAP cubes.

Compare the properties of the scheduled job in the Task Scheduler from the noted configuration of the previous installation. If the two properties differ, decide whether to apply the previous configuration or retain the default settings. Use the instructions in the following link to see the current properties of the scheduled job.

If Labeling (from Factory File) is previously configured, compare the following configuration files from the backed-up installation directory with the upgraded files to apply previously configured modifications:

If you haven't switched to columnstore before, it is recommended to follow the configurations in the following link to switch to Columnstore Index Type.

If Reporting Services is previously configured, it is recommended to follow the instructions in the following link to update the Reporting Services Home Page links.

If you skipped the dialog for providing Ingress URI upon upgrade or decided to finally connect the Analysis Server to Ingress, use the following link to manually configure the Analysis Server connection to Ingress.

  1. Access the Analysis Server web interface and navigate through each of the pages. This is to make sure that the upgrade did not break any page and that the configurations are still present. Choose among the following accessing methods of the web interface that fits your setup:
  1. Run the scheduled job in the Task Scheduler and check the logs to see if errors are encountered. This is to make sure that the processing will be successful in the succeeding executions. Use the instructions in the Running the Scheduled Job in Task Scheduler Manually section.
