# Open iT External Reporting Guide

# Introduction

Open iT presents reports in various ways. OLAP data cubes allow users to report using a variety of interfaces. In addition to the Analysis Console, Microsoft Reporting Services, and License Monitor, Open iT also supports reporting through BI tools, including Microsoft Excel and Power BI.

# Microsoft Excel

Open iT allows Microsoft Excel to connect to the Analysis Server to provide a powerful solution for generating more tailored and detailed reports, even in situations where the pre-exported Excel report from the Analysis Server Console is not accessible. This approach enables users to leverage the full capabilities of the Analysis Server directly within Excel, allowing for greater flexibility in designing reports that meet specific requirements.

By establishing this connection, users can customize data presentations, apply advanced calculations, and format reports according to their unique needs, ensuring that the absence of a ready-made exported report does not hinder the analysis and reporting process.

# Microsoft Power BI

Open iT allows Microsoft Power BI to connect to the Analysis Server, serving as a secure bridge between on-premises data sources and the Power BI cloud service, enabling connections to data sources like Open iT without needing data migration. It offers key features such as access to on-premises data, centralized management for monitoring and configuring data source connections, and efficient handling of data transfers to ensure scalability and high performance for responsive dashboards and reports, even when working with large datasets.
