Power BI Connection Configuration
This section provides the essential steps to connect a Power BI template to a SQL Server database for reporting.

Requirements
Before configuring the Power BI connection, make sure the following prerequisites are met:
- Autodesk Cloud Power BI template. Obtain the pre-made report provided by the Support Team.
- Access to SQL Server Database. Verify that you have the necessary permissions to connect to the SQL Server database where Autodesk usage data is stored.
- Configured Autodesk Cloud data collection. Make sure that the cloud data collection is successfully set up.
To configure the Power BI connection, follow the steps below:
Launch Power BI Desktop and open the template file shared by the Support Team.
New customers should coordinate with the Open iT Project Manager to obtain the Power BI template, while existing customers are advised to contact the Open iT Support Team at support@openit.com for assistance.
To start configuring the data source, click File in the upper-left corner of the ribbon.

In the lower left part of the window, navigate to Options and settings, then select Data source settings.

In the Data source settings window, click Change Source to configure the data source.

Enter the required SQL Server connection details:
- Server: Input the SQL Server name.
- Database: Specify the name of the database.
Once completed, click the OK button.

After verifying the entered details, click the Close button to save the data source settings.

If a warning appears indicating there are pending changes in your queries that have not been applied, click Apply changes in the ribbon.
