Activating WebApp Tracker

Make sure that LicenseOptimizer is activated.

The WebApp Tracker collection is active by default; make sure it is activated to collect the browser log data. If it is inactive, follow these instructions to activate:

Windows

1. Open a command prompt with Administrator level privileges.

2. Go to the bin directory, which is by default in C:\Program Files\OpeniT\Core\bin, run the command:

   Command Syntax

   cd <bin_dir>
   Example

   cd C:\Program Files\OpeniT\Core\bin

3. Once in the directory, activate the browser log data collection for WebApp Tracker, run the command:

   Command Syntax

   openit_oconfinit -u "C:/Program Files/OpeniT/Core/Configuration/module-activation/license_optimizer.root.licenseoptimizer.webapptracker.active=true"

4. By default, module activation changes are applied every 6 hours. However, if you want to activate the browser log data collection for WebApp Tracker immediately, run the appropriate command based on your system setup:

   • For a coexistent Open iT setup (Core Server and Client on the same machine), run the command:

     Command Syntax

     openit_moduleactivator

   • For a distributed setup (Core Server and Client(s) on separate machines), follow the steps in the Manually Creating and Downloading a Distributable Configuration Files Package section.

Unix

WebApp Tracker is only supported in Windows Open iT Client. This configuration will only be applied to the connected Windows Open iT Client.

1. Go to the bin directory, which is by default in /opt/openit/bin, run the command:

   cd /opt/openit/bin
